An instant fall/winter outerwear upgrade

Capes have dominated the fashion world since the royalty in Medieval Europe donned them as a symbol of their wealth and power. Since the knights of the round table, the garment has made a comeback in various forms such as military uniforms, elegant 1940s fur-lined shawls, raincoats, and hippie 1960s ponchos.

Once again the world has become obsessed with the cape or cloak. Fall/Winter runways were buzzing with the beautifully draped, elegant sophistication of the cape. Effortless style was the motto for designers like Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Stefano Pilati for YSL, and Giorgio Armani.  Worn with thigh high leather boots, over a fabulous cocktail dress, even over an edgy pair of jeans… the cape is an absolute must-have for any fashion-savvy dresser with a sense of history.
