We've been watching spring fashions come tumbling down the runways for nearly four weeks now and here's 3 easy trends to copy
With the melee of spring 2011 fashion weeks nearly behind us, there are plenty of trends that are emerging. We focused in on 3 trends from the Paris runways that are not only pragmatic, and allow for personal style, but are also easy to shop for NOW. You don't have to wait till spring or for H & M to knock it off. Simply hit the high street with a bit of savvy and you'll pull any of these trends off with ease and best-off you'll be ahead of the game for spring.
1. Minimalism. In a nod to the 90s even the futuristic Gareth Pugh sent clean garments with sharply tailored lines and largely neutral hues designed to showcase craftsmanship down his runway.
How to Shop— Look for neutral colors and prioritize fit and a structured look above all else.
2. Prints. Prints were abundant this spring, floral and stripes making huge waves with editors, but we like the home-spun, nostalgic Scandinavian style prints at Rochas.
How to Shop— Look for vintage-inspired print skirts and trim.Think homey and cozy, the type of patterns and prints you'd see on your grandmother's needlework.
3. Androgyny. Yep, the is-it-a-he-or-a-she? look is holding court. The androgynous look with loose fitting pants and oversize blazers is back in big way. And the esoteric Dries Van Noten has taken a deep look into the work of deceased Belgian painter, Jef Verheyen to examine his use of light and dark and has manifested this in a sultry play between masculine and feminine.
How to Shop— Look for oversize boyfriend blazers and loose fitted pants in delicate fabrics. Pair with a belted trench and a loose, mostly unbuttoned blouse.
