We explore the crimson tide in fashion
As the emblem of passion, power and confidence, red is a color that always makes a statement. Whether you’re making a splash in head-to-toe crimson or igniting an otherwise subtle outfit with a fabulous accessory, red is color that should be in every woman’s wardrobe. In the past designers’ collections were punctuated here and there with pops of red but in recent seasons, powerful reds have become more than a statement piece with head-to-toe vermillion a mainstay on the runways of Paris, Milan and New York. Designers, stylists and celebrities alike are making red hues more wearable and versatile than ever by consistently pairing it with neutrals like black, white, beige and metallics. As designer Bill Blass once said, “when in doubt, wear red.”
Project Runway winner, Seth Aaron Henderson, makes a bold statement with this modern look from his latest collection which debuted at Bryant Park this spring. We especially love the unique use of pleating on the shoulders and hemline of this dress.
