Despite the cool autumn temperatures, New Yorker contributor, Anna Coroneo hit up PR fashion powerhouse Paul Wilmont Communications' Spring Press Preview to bring us highlights for spring 2010.
Naeem KhanIt’s always exciting to anticipate what you’ll frolic around in under warm, sunny skies and balmy evenings. Last night, Paul Wilmot Communications held their Spring 2010 press previews. Collections by ADAM Adam Lippes, Luca Luca and Naeem Kahn dazzled amongst the racks.
Adam Lippes’ spring collection explores rich textured embellishments using feathers, shells and heavy beaded accents. Of particular note, is a stunning white dress with a sweetheart neckline, defined by beads on sheer silk. Definitely a classic frock with an edgy twist.
Luca Luca’s Spring 2010 delivers the most stunning answers to elegant, chic and ladylike silhouettes. Vibrant hues from mandarin to canary yellows, peacock blues and raspberries charge the designs with bold energy. One of my favorite members of the collection is a layered skirt with delicate black lace over flamboyantly printed silk.
Naeem Kahn undoubtedly has the gob-smacking wow factor going on with embellishments. Opulence and decadence are the best adjectives to describe the luxurious and intricate beading on thick silks. Big bow sashes resound like a loud baritone voice and the use of feathers also made a diva-esque appearance in the collection.
Overall, Spring 2010 looks like nobody gives a s*** about the recession! Luxurious textures are everywhere and the desire for flirtatious silhouettes and bold prints are strong forces. A true Aussie at heart, I’m counting down the days until the sunny times ahead.
