A pleasant surprise at the J.Crew spin off
When we first heard of Madewell a few years back as a J.Crew spin-off, we weren’t overly excited assuming we were in for more classic preppy looks. But, we did always like their jeans, and ok, so they did classic pretty damn well. But that was to be expected being J.Crew progeny. Madewell fell off our radar gradually.
Then, when the rumors broke that British style icon Alexa Chung was doing a signature line for Madewell, we had to have another look. And while the label is definitely a clichéd mix of classic and sloppy-preppy, we did have fun shopping the site and put together a head-to-toe look that was pretty damn cute.
We’re also looking forward to Chung’s fall line with Madewell, which when paired with a few vintage finds, has huge potential.
