Born in India to a well-known fashion powerhouse father, Malini Murjani has never known a life without fashion. With her early years spent moving and adapting from one culture to the next, Murjani quickly developed a sense of who people are and what people want – whether in her birthplace of India, her childhood in Hong Kong, or the many places she’s called home across Europe and America.
Murjani moved to New York to attend FIT, where she studied the business of fashion. Following graduation, it didn’t take long for her creative-side to kick in, and in 2000, Murjani launched her first collection of handbags. That season proved an indication of things to come: Barneys, Bergdorfs, and Henri Bendel were already calling. From here, Murjani charged forward into developing the voice of her brand, described best as “a brilliant reflection of the designer’s lifestyle; a constant osmosis from one culture to another.”
