Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux Bends the Rules
I tend to do almost everything by the book. I drive the speed limit, don’t keep milk past the expiration date and always return rented DVDs on time, but it can be refreshing to shake things up from time to time. Now that fashion week has wrapped and I’ve had a chance to reflect back on my favorite beauty moment from the whirlwind seven days of spring shows, the look that caught my eye this season was one that did just that. The bright orange shaded eyes (accompanied by nude lips and peachy bronzed cheeks) at Derek Lam’s show done by Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux and his team of makeup artists, were created using two NEW Estée Lauder Pure Color Lipsticks (launching in March 2011) combined with the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place LIP Pencil in Coral. Tom remarked,
“Working with Derek Lam is a true creative collaboration, he loves to bend the rules the way I do. So I created the focus on the eyes with products that are actually made for the lips. Vivid color on the eyes that is sharp and graphic with gorgeous skin, sun-kissed cheeks, a bit of mascara and a lovely eyebrow all bring the fantasy of the Derek Lam women.”
